The AIX Basics course is a 3-day course that is designed to teach students how to perform everyday tasks using the AIX operating system. Students will learn how to manage AIX files and directories, use the vi editor and AIX utilities, and customize the working environment.
Topics covered in the course include:

- Using AIX online documentation
- Managing AIX files and directories
- Describing the purpose of the shell
- Using the vi editor
- Executing common AIX commands and manage AIX processes
- Customizing the working environment
- Using common AIX utilities

- Using the Common Desktop Environment
Target Student:
This basic course is intended for anyone who requires basic AIX/UNIX user skills to be able to work in an AIX environment.
This course is also a prerequisite for many courses in the AIX Systems Administration curriculum.
